About Us
Craig:
I am a Design Engineer with a problem solving mind. I've been a mountain walker for as long as I can remember! Although i've travelled to many distant ranges, its the hills of Southern Snowdonia which hold a special place in my heart. I love all things outdoor and always keen share the wonders of the natural world with others. Thankfully Rosie and I have this shared passion, and our fondest memories are of wandering the hills together.
Rosie:
I am a medical Doctor with many years dedicated service to the NHS. Craig introduced me to the wonders of hill walking many years ago and I haven't looked back! I am equally happy when I'm reading a good book or spending time gardening, the mature gardens of the cottage are a particular delight! I have a particular interest in interior design and loved choosing the all important finishing touches to the cottage.

Welcome to Snowdonia Getaway, a haven of tranquility and luxury nestled in this most stunning corner of North Wales. Our journey to creating this enchanting retreat is one of passion, dedication, and a deep love for understated elegance and nature’s beauty.
The Beginning: A Dream Takes Shape
We stumbled upon Bryn Hyfryd, a charming but neglected property with immense potential. Despite its state of disrepair, we saw beyond the crumbling walls, extensive damp and cramped layout – we saw the makings of a luxurious escape where every detail speaks of comfort and sophistication.
Our Inspiration: Sharing and celebrating the Beauty of Southern Snowdonia
Many years ago we fell in love with this uniquely beautiful area. Our inspiration for Snowdonia Getaway was to create a retreat that reflects the splendour of this unique region. We wanted to offer a place where guests could disconnect from the world and reconnect with themselves and their loved ones.
The Renovation: Breathing New Life into History
The renovation was a labour of love and family support that spanned two years. We carefully restored the cottage, incorporating many original features into the logical, modern layout which makes the most of the incredible light and views on offer.
We were supported at every step by excellent local tradesmen to ensure that every aspect of the renovation was successfully completed to the very highest standards and compliance.
Our goal was to blend the old with the new, creating a space where guests could enjoy the charm of a bygone era without sacrificing modern comforts. High-end fixtures, state-of-the-art appliances, and bespoke furnishings were carefully selected to complement the cottage’s timeless appeal.
